How Estimated Delivery Dates (EDD) are determined:
Our Estimated Delivery Dates are based on several factors:
- Expected Delivery to Processing Facility: The anticipated date the shipment will reach our processing facility.
- 3PL/Facility Location: The location of the third-party logistics provider or warehouse.
- Passport Export Facility Location: Our export facilities in California (CA), New Jersey (NJ), and Illinois (IL).
- Service Level: The shipping service selected for the delivery.
- Destination Country: The country to which the shipment is being sent.
- Destination State/Province: Specific location details for countries like Canada and Australia.
Reasons for delays:
EDDs adjust automatically as transit times change. Delays can be caused by various factors, including:
- First-Mile Delays: Issues during the initial stages of the shipment.
- Processing Delays: Delays at the processing facility.
- Weather and Environmental Factors: Adverse weather conditions affecting transit.
- Political and Socio-Economic Climates: Conditions in the destination country that impact shipping.
- Other Factors: Various other issues that may or may not be within the scope of Passport's control.
Staying Informed
- Service Alerts: To remain updated on known delays occurring globally, please read our weekly Service Alerts. You can access our service alerts page here.
- Updating Checkout Language: To help adjust customers' expectations, Passport can assist in updating the checkout language in the cart flow. The standard "8-14 Business Days" can be changed to a range that better reflects current transit times.
