How do I set up tax collection in my Shopify store?

Remember that Passport is paying taxes on your behalf. You will need to collect taxes from your customers to allow for DDP shipping. This guide will help you to set up taxes and duties for all your shipping locations.

To begin, in your Shopify Admin page, navigate to Settings > Tax and Duties

Canada

1. Select Canada from the list of countries
2. Click on Collect sales tax
3. Under Region select Ontario (HST)
4. In the Tax Number field, enter the value 330750814RT0001
5. Click Collect sales tax

Australia

1. Select Australia from the list of countries
2. Click on Collect GST
3. Leave the field empty then click on Collect GST again

European Union

1. Select European Union from the list of countries/regions
2. Click on Collect VAT
3. Select the radio button next to One-Stop Shop registration and click Next
4. Under Registration country select Netherlands
5. Leave the field empty then click on Collect VAT

New Zealand

1. Select New Zealand from the list of countries
2. Click on Collect GST
3. Leave the field empty then click on Collect GST again

United Kingdom

1. Select United Kingdom from the list of countries
2. Click on Collect VAT
3. Leave the field empty then click on Collect VAT again
